There are several parks within a few minutes' walk of our house, starting right next door where, city fathers decided 100 years ago to plant an oak tree grove rather than complete a street from a block over. One of our favourite 'inland' places in Oak Bay is what we call "Secret Park" a magical little blink-and-you'll-miss-it park minutes from our doorstep. Our summers are very warm, but with cooling night breezes. Winters are very moderate, and while snow is very rare, when we get more than a dusting, the neighbourhood is transformed.
