Situated at the foot of Mount Brandon, Ireland's second highest mountain (950 m) and with a panoramic view of the Slieve Mish Mountains all round, our detached holiday home is about a 15-minute walk from the small village of Cloghane on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry; an area renowned the world over for its breathtaking scenery and natural beauty.
For anyone interested in the outdoors, you'll be spoilt for choice here; forest walks, mountain hikes, fishing, golf, sailing and deep sea diving are all within easy reach. For more relaxing times, the Kerry coastline in dotted with countless uncrowded beaches of all shapes and sizes; the magnificent 20KM-long Fermoyle Beach is just a short drive from the house as is the more sheltered Cappa Beach with its warm rock pools. And there are many more, too numerous to list...
The quaint and colourful town of Dingle is just a 20-minute drive away, with its lively pub scene, award-winning restaurants and Irish language "Gaeltacht" tradition. Tralee, the capital of Kerry, is a busy market town about 30 minutes by car. Here you'll find plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs and a variety of evening entertainment options. These include, for example, Siamsa Theatre, the National Theatre of Ireland, which runs a programme of traditional Irish entertainment throughout the summer season. There are also regular greyhound racing fixtures in Tralee throughout the year.
History and handcrafts, culture and "craic", you'll find them all in abundance and within easy reach of Cloghane. And after your daily excursions, you can relax in front of a turf fire in our bright, spacious open-plan living room. With sleeping accommodation for 10 in the house, there will be no shortage of space for you, your family and possibly a few friends!
