In the heart of nature in the north of Burgundy

An old winegrowers' house surrounded by nature, in a small, very quiet village, in a preserved region: Puisaye (the country of the writer Colette). Many sites to visit, walks or bike rides. Calm guaranteed!
The house has been completely renovated and has all the comfort you want.Very good Internet connection via a pylon close but not visible from the house.
On the ground floor: a living room, a kitchen, a large library-lounge, a double bedroom with a 160cm bed. A second bedroom with a 140cm bed opens into the library via a miller's staircase. These two bedrooms each have their own bathroom and toilet. Upstairs, another large 'Dormitory' bedroom, accessible only from the outside, which also has its shower room and toilet. The house is pleasant to live in even if there are only two of you because you can easily live only on the ground floor by closing the unused rooms.
The garden is very large and has different places for eating in the shade or in the sun, for barbecuing or for secluding yourself to read. It is maintained regularly but a little watering of the rose bushes once a week is welcome in summer. A swimming pool measuring 3m50 x 3m50 allows adults to cool off and children to splash around if it's hot.
Further on, the Yonne river offers its shaded banks and swimming in the river as well as canoeing. In the village there is the Fabuloserie, the largest and best-known art brut museum in France, in the grounds of a former mill.
The region is full of other sites to visit that we will point out to you, in particular the Chateau de Guédelon, a medieval fortified castle under reconstruction since 2002, the Chateau de Saint Fargeau, the ancient towns of Joigny, Auxerre, Montargis.
It is a region very popular with cycle tourists. The vineyards of Chably, Coulange and Saint Bris le Vineux are not very far away. There are also beautiful markets everywhere and a shop selling organic farm products 500 meters from the house. A good little restaurant in the village and other good restaurants everywhere...

About Our Family

We are a retired couple who have traveled extensively around the world. As the years (and confinement) passed, we rediscovered France and all the wonders that each region offers. But we want to travel again. We love nature, old stones and meeting new people. Nous voyageons tous les deux car nos enfants sont grands et ne vivent plus avec nous. la maison de Bourgogne est notre maison de campagne, où nos enfants viennent nous voir.
