Moving to condo in Boston, USA after June 2026

We are moving to a condominium in Boston and will be available for exchanges after June 2026. After many years in a large suburban house, we are moving closer to the city, but still in a very tranquil, quiet location.

You can google "Cabot Estate" to see different photos of this beautiful association.

The photos show the condo as it is at present, and we are doing some renovations. Therefore, I cannot show it with furniture at the moment. I will be adding additional photos in the next week.

It is a serene, penthouse condo in an elevator building. The building is one of two mid-rise buildings at Cabot Estate. The Cabot community is ideally located directly across from Jamaica Pond and the Emerald Necklace, the parks designed by Olmstead of Central Park fame. It is a gated community with 23 landscaped acres, an outdoor pool, tennis courts, and in The Castle there is a library and a gym. All of these are available to home exchangers.
You would be one mile from Brookline Village, where there are shops and restaurants and you can get the Green Line trolley in all directions. In twenty minutes you can walk to a bus that takes you to various parts of the city. The walks are very pleasant along the park.

The condo itself will be able to accommodate 6 people in this way:
Master bedroom with queen bed and en suite bathroom
Second bedroom with queen bed and a full bathroom across the hall
Sleep sofa in the loft. On the loft level you will also find the third bathroom, very large, all done in black marble, with jetted tub.
There is a large, tranquil living/dining room, a large kitchen, a balcony with lovely views.

Please note that we have an indoor cat! Milo was a rescue cat that was declawed on all four feet and abandoned in south Texas. He is very shy at first, but if you make a little effort to befriend him, he will be extremely affectionate. He needs to have typical care for an indoor kitty.

Photos will be updated in the spring, but we are ready to make plans for fall of 2026.

Always open to exchanges around Phoenix, because my older daughter lives there. Also interested in Venice, Spain....and make us an offer! We love to travel. NOTE: we plan to be in Spain for the month of October 2026. We would like to spend part of it in Madrid and are open to suggestions about other places. Neighborhood

About the neighborhood

Our condominium is on the top floor of an elevator building, with tranquil views of Jamaica Pond and the surrounding parkland, yet it is close to Brookline Village and easy transport into the city of Boston. A serene and unique oasis within the city. Only four miles to the very center of Boston.

Our condo community is located right across from the Emerald Necklace, which is the string of parks designed by Olmstead of Central Park fame. You are directly across from Jamaica Pond, a beautiful place to walk, and you can even walk all the way to the Arnold Arboretum.

BOSTON! A beautiful and historic city. You will never run out of things to do.
Museum of Fine Arts
Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (with its new wing)
) New England Conservatory (many concerts, many of them free)
Symphony Hall and many live theaters in Boston
Boston Public Library (many murals on several floors, events and a cafe)
Copley Square (Trinity Church) Boston Public Garden (take a swan boat ride) and Boston Common
Back Bay and Beacon Hill--historic and handsome, wander around on cobbled streets
North End (visit Paul Revere's birthplace; great Italian restaurants)
Freedom Trail (the birthplace of the American Revolution)
The waterfront! Take a walk along the ocean, go whale-watching, take a water taxi to the Boston Harbour Islands.

Shopping! Newbury Street and more.

Go across the Charles River to visit Harvard University and MIT. You can also take pleasant walks along the Charles.
Go see a baseball game at eh Red Sox Fenway Park.

You will be one mile from Brookline Village, with its many restaurants and shops. From there, you can pick up the Green Line T in order to get to various parts of the city. You will be less than a mile (walking directly east across the park) from the commercial center of Jamaica Plain, a lively district full of ethnic restaurants, second-hand shops and young people. Whole Foods supermarket is in this part of Jamaica Plain.

In 20 minutes you can walk to a bus that will take you to other parts of the city. We can discuss the possibility of car exchange, so that you can explore north of Boston (picturesque old seaport towns on Cape Ann, such as Marblehead and Rockport), west of Boston (Concord, a historic town where the first shot of the American Revolution was fired) or down to Newport, Rhode Island, where you can tour the mansions and walk the Cliff Walk next to the ocean.

With the car you can visit many beautiful beaches in all directions.

Visit Salem, the Witch Museum and the Peabody Essex Museum. Learn about the witch trials of the late seventeenth century.

David was a professor of mathematics, now retired. Nancy had a business which she sold, and she’s now a writer. Sometimes we travel with Nancy's adult daughter, a composer who teaches at Arizona State University.
